Blessing of the Animals and Prayer for Creation
“Be praised, my Lord, through all creatures.” St Francis of Assisi. Come celebrate the animals that make our lives special. Bring your pet, leashed or crated, to the Headwaters Sanctuary entrance for a special blessing on the Feast of St Francis of Assisi. Not comfortable bringing your pet, bring a photo or stuffed animal. The program will be led by Sister Martha Ann Kirk and the “Arts for Christian Worship” Class. Dress for the weather conditions. Pet blessing certificates will be provided. Co-sponsored by the University of the Incarnate Word Liturgical Outreach and The San Antonio Archdiocesan Task Force on Laudato Si.
