Walking with Aldo Leopold

  • Headwater at Incarnate Word 4503 Broadway Street San Antonio, TX, 78209 United States (map)

Join us for a short hike through the Headwaters with emphasis on the features that relate to the thoughts and writings of Aldo Leopold. Considered by many to be the father of wildlife ecology and the United States’ wilderness system, Aldo Leopold was a conservationist, forester, philosopher, educator, writer, and outdoor enthusiast. The walk is limited to 12.

'We abuse land because we see it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.' Aldo Leopold

The walk will be led by Tom Kinsey, ecology education consultant and owner of Learn Nature. Kinsey previously acted as a staff naturalist at the Witte Museum for 12 years. Kinsey is also a certified Texas Master Naturalist, a certified native plant landscaper, and a Texas Parks and Wildlife Department facilitator for Project WILD and Aquatic WILD.
