Headwaters Volunteer Workday

  • Congregation's Cemetery (right of chapel) 4503 Broadway San Antonio, TX, 78209 United States (map)

Today’s session will be on properties adjacent to the Headwaters Sanctuary on Congregational land. Those signing up will be provided with parking and meet-up instructions.

Join a dedicated volunteer community to help restore and maintain a 53-acre riparian forest, the Headwaters Sanctuary.

Volunteers work in two groups to cover a variety of necessary tasks. One group, our volunteer gardeners, work in the pollinator garden (weeding, pruning, and planting/ spreading mulch when needed). Our second group focuses on tasks within the riparian forest (trail maintenance, invasive plant removal, debris collection, and broadcasting seed/planting as needed). Headwaters provides tools, equipment, supplies, and work gloves.  Volunteers bring their own water supply.

Register for the volunteer session by contacting: howard.homan@gmail.com.  Meet up locations and parking information, weather cancellations, and any other info is issued by email only to registrants.

We are not accepting walk-in volunteers at this time.
